Haider Ahmed Khan, FCA, a freedom fighter, a renowned Chartered Accountant, a social worker, an industrialist and a businessman, is widely known for his ample accomplishments. His achievements are not some gracious endowment, rather they are a result of his relentless efforts. Due to being a good student from his boyhood, he was able to climb the ladder of success. He has always maintained a strict level of transparency and a contemporary outlook in his workspace. With an unwritten and unyielding commitment towards people, he can establish and maintain an amicable relationship with everybody. Hence he has always found satisfaction in philanthropically activities.
Mr. Khan is also politically vigilant, and as such, he believes there should be more transparency and accountability in the political sphere of our country. Mr. Khan was born in 1955 in a noble family in the village of Jally, which is located in the Kendua Upazilla of Netrokona district.
Grandfather: Late Haider Ali Khan was a renowned attorney in the Mymensingh Judge Court. He was also known for his social work; even now people remember him with the utmost respect.
Father: Late Lutfe Ali Khan was a prominent businessman who conducted his business for a long time in Kolkata. Apart from establishing himself, he also dedicated himself to the betterment of others. He was also a prominent social worker.
Mother: Late Latifunnesa Khanom was an ideal homemaker. She was a reserved and religious woman. Her role in rearing the children in the family was paramount.
Siblings: 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Brothers: Lutfe Ahmed Khan Ashim was a freedom fighter and was the Chairman of the Dolpa Union for a long time. Currently, he is retired. Late Adv. Shafayat Ahmed Khan was also a freedom fighter and was a Company Commander of Sector 11. He also performed his role as the Sector Second-in-Command for a short period. The youngest brother, Latif Ahmed Khan, also a freedom fighter, worked as a District Judge in the Kishoreganj Women and Child Abuse Tribunal. He is currently retired. Sisters: Sufia Khanom, Sayda Khanom, and Bela Khanom, all three sisters are married and are homemakers.
Wife: Wahida Nasreen, BA (Hons.), MA, B.Ed is the Managing Director of MM. Agro Enterprises Ltd.
Children: Rubaba Ferdous, the eldest daughter, is currently working as an Audit Manager at Ahmed Khan and Co. The second daughter, Rudaba Afreen is also working as an Audit Manager at Ahmed Khan and Co. Wasama Ahmed Khan, the youngest son, is currently working as a Research Associate at Economic Research Group.
Education: Haider Ahmed Khan started his student life at Jally Primary School. He completed his Secondary School Certificate (SSC) from Government Ideal Anjuman High School, Netrokona in 1972 and completed his Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) from Netrokona Government Collage, Netrokona in 1974. He completed his Honors in Accounting from the University of Dhaka in 1978 and subsequently completed his Masters in Finance and Banking in 1980. He completed his CA. from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Bangladesh in 1989 and became a Fellow Member in 1994. He also became a Fellow Member of the Institute of Financial Consultants, Canada in 1995.
Career: Mr Khan started his career at T&T as an Assistant Director, where he worked from 1981 to 1985. From 1985 to 1990 he worked as a Financial Analyst at the Ministry of Finance. Then he joined the private organization Wills Group as the Controller of Finance and worked there from 1990-1991. During 1991-1993 he was the Vice President of the renowned Lotus Kamal Group. In 1993, Mr Khan left his position at the Lotus Kamal Group and established Ahmed Khan and Co., a CA Firm. He is currently the Proprietor of this esteemed CA Firm. It is to be noted that students completing their CA from this firm are currently working at various top organizations in the country.
Social Work and Notable Activities: Mr Khan is a Philanthropist, who is always seeking to spread the light of education and develop his locality. All his efforts are for eradicating the curse of illiteracy and developing the local people as capable human resources. In 1996, Mr Khan established a Non-Governmental Primary School in his village. He named the school after his Mother, Latifunnesa Khanom. He gave a one-time 30 Thousand Taka donation to the Education Trust of the Kendua Thana Association. Every year the brilliant minds of Rampur Anowara High School, Bekhoirhati-Norendrakanto High School and Rajghat Senior Madrasa in Kendua receive a scholarship from the dividend of the donation. He has also employed several unemployed youths from his village in his industry. He also helped these unemployed youths to get employed in various other organizations.
Political Affiliation: Mr Khan, being motivated by the ideology of Major Ziaur Rahman, has recently joined the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
International Travels: To join various International Seminar Symposiums and business purposes, Mr Khan has travelled to various countries, including The United Kingdom, India, Thailand, Australia, Canada, China, Italy, France, Germany, Singapore, Malaysia, The Philippines and The United States of America.
Hobbies: Travelling and enjoying a game of football.
